How does it work?

The ZO Stimulator Peel is a highly effective superficial skin peel suitable for all skin types to treat visible signs of skin ageing

The ZO Stimulator Peel is often referred to as a “lunchtime peel”,is a non-invasive chemical peel designed to provide deep exfoliation, brighten the skin, and improve overall skin texture. It’s a gentle yet effective treatment that works well for various skin concerns such as uneven skin tone, fine lines, acne, and sun damage. FAQs

What does the ZO peel treat?
  • Improved Skin Texture: The exfoliation helps to reveal smoother, more even skin, improving the overall texture.
  • Brighter Complexion: The peel addresses uneven skin tone, sun spots, and dullness, leaving the skin looking more radiant and refreshed.
  • Non-invasive with No Downtime: The ZO Stimulator Peel is a gentle peel that doesn’t cause peeling or intense irritation, meaning there’s minimal downtime.
  • Treats Various Skin Concerns: It’s effective for hyperpigmentation, fine lines, acne, and uneven tone.
  • Hydration: The peel has hydrating properties, making it great for all skin types, including dry or sensitive skin.
  • Collagen Stimulation: The treatment encourages collagen production, which helps with skin firmness and reduces signs of aging over time.

Ideal Candidates for the ZO Stimulator Peel:

  • Those seeking non-invasive skin rejuvenation.
  • Individuals with dull, uneven skin or mild to moderate hyperpigmentation.
  • People who want a quick, no-downtime peel that can improve the overall texture and appearance of their skin.
  • Acne-prone skin: The combination of exfoliating and salicylic acid is great for clearing pores and reducing breakouts.
  • Immediate Glow: Right after the peel, you’ll notice a brighter, smoother complexion with a healthy glow. This can last for several days after the treatment.

  • Short-Term Results (1-2 Weeks): In the days to weeks following the peel, you may experience continued improvement in skin texture and tone as the skin sheds dead cells and rejuvenates. The skin will feel hydrated, and fine lines and mild pigmentation can appear reduced.

  • Longer-Term Results (1 Month or More): For long-lasting effects (like reduced pigmentation, improved skin tone, and a more even complexion), it’s generally recommended to have a series of peels.

Results from a single ZO Stimulator Peel can last for up to 4-6 weeks, depending on your skin’s natural cell turnover rate. Since the treatment encourages collagen production and cell regeneration, your skin may continue to look smoother and more radiant even after the initial glow fades.

For optimal and longer-lasting results, regular treatments are often recommended. A series of 3-6 peels spaced 4-6 weeks apart will provide more substantial, longer-lasting improvements. After completing a series, maintenance treatments can be done every 1-2 months to preserve and enhance the results.

Factors That Affect Duration:

  • Skin Type: Individuals with oily or acne-prone skin may notice longer-lasting results, while those with dry skin may need more frequent treatments.
  • Sun Protection: Consistent use of sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) is essential for maintaining the results. Sun exposure can lead to the recurrence of pigmentation and dullness.
  • At-Home Skincare: Using products that promote skin renewal, like retinoids or antioxidants, can prolong the benefits of the peel.

Contraindications for any aesthetic procedure can include but are not limited to:

  • Active Skin Infections: If you have an active skin infection (such as cold sores, fungal infections, or bacterial infections), the peel could aggravate the condition or cause further irritation.

  • Recent Botox or Filler Injections: If you’ve had Botox or dermal fillers recently, it’s typically advised to wait at least two weeks before having a peel to avoid interfering with the healing process or causing sensitivity.

  • Sunburned Skin: Sunburned or irritated skin should not undergo the ZO Stimulator Peel. The skin needs to be in a healthy, non-irritated state to avoid further damage and discomfort.

  • Active Acne or Severe Breakouts: While the peel can be beneficial for mild acne, severe or cystic acne may not respond well to the treatment and could worsen with the exfoliation and chemical agents in the peel.

  • Sensitive Skin Conditions: People with skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea should avoid the ZO Stimulator Peel, as the acids can further irritate the skin or cause flare-ups.

  • Recent Laser Treatments: If you’ve recently had a laser treatment (such as fractional CO2, erbium, or other ablative lasers), it is best to wait until your skin has fully healed before receiving a chemical peel.

  • Use of Retinoids or Accutane: If you are using prescription retinoids (such as retinol, tretinoin, or Accutane), you should stop using these products for at least 1-2 weeks before the peel. These medications can make the skin more sensitive and prone to irritation during chemical peels.

  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Although the ZO Stimulator Peel is not considered highly risky, it is generally recommended to avoid chemical peels during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to the lack of conclusive safety data.

  • History of Keloids or Scarring: Individuals who have a history of keloid scarring or excessive scarring should avoid chemical peels, including the ZO Stimulator Peel, as it could trigger hypertrophic scarring.

  • Allergy to Ingredients: If you are allergic to any of the ingredients in the peel (such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or other exfoliating agents), it should not be performed.

  • Tanned Skin: If you’ve recently tanned your skin (naturally or through tanning beds), it’s best to wait until your tan fades. Sun-exposed skin can be more sensitive and reactive to chemical peels, increasing the risk of irritation, burns, or pigmentation changes.

A consultation will be performed prior to any procedures ensuring all treatments are carried out safely.
