How does it work?
Injecting PRP strengthens the skin surface and creates healthier skin.
We’ll draw a small amount of blood so we can spin it down and isolate your platelet-rich plasma, aka “liquid gold.” We can then microneedle, stamp or inject your PRP just beneath the skin to boost collagen, elastin and even can encourage hair growth. PRP contains growth factors that aid in improving skin moisture levels, leading to hydrated and plump skin, which enhances its overall appearance. We’ll massage any remaining PRP onto your skin so you can reap all the restorative benefits of your body’s healing abilities.
When added onto microneedling or Morpheus8, PRP further improves overall texture and tone. We’ll apply your PRP topically and needle it into the skin for even better collagen-boosting benefits.
When used as a scalp treatment the growth factors in the platelets stimulate hair follicles, promote collagen production, and improve blood flow to the scalp, encouraging healthier and stronger hair growth. PRP is commonly used for androgenetic alopecia (pattern baldness) and can be combined with other treatments like microneedling for enhanced results.

FAQs
Benefits of PRP?
- Direct Delivery of Growth Factors: PRP is rich in growth factors, which are proteins that play a crucial role in cell growth, tissue repair, and regeneration. When PRP is injected/microneedled into the skin, it directly delivers these growth factors to targeted areas, stimulating healing and rejuvenation at a cellular level.
- Stimulates Collagen Production: One of the key benefits of PRP is its ability to stimulate collagen production. Collagen is a protein that gives skin its structure and firmness. As we age, collagen production decreases, leading to wrinkles and sagging skin. PRP helps boost collagen production, leading to firmer, smoother skin.
- Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles: The increased collagen production and skin renewal processes help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, giving the skin a more youthful look.
- Improves Skin Tone and Texture: PRP injections can enhance skin texture by increasing blood flow and stimulating the production of new skin cells. This results in a smoother, more even skin tone with improved elasticity.
- Scar Reduction: PRP can also be used to treat scars (such as acne scars) by promoting the healing of damaged skin and encouraging new skin cell growth, helping scars become less noticeable over time.
Ideal candidate
The ideal candidate would be some who has:
- Healthy Skin: No active infections, irritations, or severe skin conditions.
- Mild to Moderate Aging: Fine lines, wrinkles, and early signs of aging.
- Scarring: Acne scars, surgical scars, or stretch marks.
- Seeking Non-Surgical Treatment: Prefer a non-invasive, natural solution.
- Good Overall Health: No blood disorders or autoimmune conditions.
- Early to Mid-Aged: Typically between late 20s to 40s.
- No Active Skin Conditions: Avoids treatment on areas with open wounds or infections.
You must be willing to have blood drawn to have treatment with PRP. The younger the patient the better with PRP as your growth factors and healing abilities slow down as you get older. Exosomes and polynucleotides are an excellent alternative as we age.
Longevity
The results from PRP skin rejuvenation typically last anywhere from 6 months to a year, depending on several factors such as skin condition, age, lifestyle, and how well the skin responds to treatment.
Factors Influencing Duration:
- Collagen Production: PRP stimulates collagen and elastin production, which takes time to show full results. The initial improvements may be seen within 2–4 weeks, but collagen remodeling can continue for several months.
- Maintenance Treatments: For long-lasting results, many people opt for maintenance treatments every 6–12 months. This helps maintain the rejuvenated look.
- Age and Skin Health: Younger individuals or those with healthier skin may see longer-lasting effects than older individuals or those with more advanced signs of aging.
- Lifestyle Factors: Factors such as sun exposure, smoking, diet, and skincare habits can impact how long the results last. Proper sun protection and skincare can help maintain the results.
- Number of Sessions: Multiple sessions can enhance results and contribute to a longer duration of improvement.
Maintenance sessions
- Initial Treatment Phase:
- Typically, 3 treatments are recommended, spaced about 4–6 weeks apart. This ensures optimal collagen stimulation and allows for the best results in improving skin texture, tone, and reducing fine lines or scars.
After Initial Treatments:
- Every 6–12 months: After the initial phase, maintenance sessions are typically recommended once every 6–12 months to maintain the results. This helps to boost collagen production, maintain skin health, and prolong the effects of the treatment.
Individual Factors:
- Age & Skin Condition: Older skin or more significant skin concerns (like deep wrinkles or severe scarring) may require more frequent treatments initially (e.g., every 3–4 months) to see sustained results.
- Lifestyle Factors: If you’re exposed to sun frequently, smoke, or have other environmental factors that accelerate aging, you may need more frequent sessions to maintain the skin’s appearance.
When will I see results?
2–4 Weeks:
- You may notice an initial glow and slight improvement in skin texture, as blood flow and cell turnover are boosted.
- Fine lines might begin to soften, and skin may feel smoother and more hydrated.
1–2 Months:
- Collagen production ramps up, so you may start noticing more significant improvements in skin elasticity, tone, and firmness.
- Fine lines and wrinkles continue to soften, and the skin’s overall appearance starts to look more youthful and refreshed.
2–3 Months:
- Full results become more apparent. Collagen remodeling continues, improving skin structure, reducing wrinkles, and helping with issues like acne scars or uneven skin tone.
- Your skin may look noticeably smoother, firmer, and have a more even tone.
Contraindications
Contraindications to PRP Skin Rejuvenation:
Active Infections or Inflammation:
- Skin infections: PRP should not be used on areas with active skin infections (e.g., herpes outbreaks, bacterial or fungal infections) because it could worsen the condition.
- Inflammatory skin conditions: Active conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea could interfere with the healing process or worsen the skin’s condition.
Blood Disorders:
- Blood clotting disorders (e.g., hemophilia, thrombocytopenia, or low platelet count) can impair the body’s ability to form clots or heal properly, making PRP unsuitable.
- Anticoagulant therapy: People on blood-thinning medications (e.g., warfarin, aspirin) may need to stop the medication before the procedure to reduce the risk of bleeding or bruising.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:
- PRP treatments are generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to a lack of research on safety during these times.
Cancer or Active Cancer Treatment:
- Active cancer or undergoing chemotherapy/radiation treatments may be a contraindication. PRP stimulates cell growth, and in the case of cancer, it could potentially affect abnormal cell growth.
Autoimmune Disorders:
- People with autoimmune conditions (e.g., lupus, rheumatoid arthritis) may not be ideal candidates, as these conditions can affect healing or cause unpredictable reactions to the treatment.
Severe Skin Conditions or Open Wounds:
- Open wounds or active skin ulcers should be avoided, as PRP could cause irritation or infection in these areas.
- Severe acne or cystic acne may also be a contraindication if there is an active breakout in the treatment area.
Uncontrolled Medical Conditions:
- Uncontrolled diabetes, high blood pressure, or chronic illness may affect healing, and it’s best to consult with a healthcare provider before undergoing treatment.
Allergies to Anesthetics:
- If you have an allergy to the numbing agent (usually lidocaine) used during microneedling, PRP with microneedling may not be suitable.
- Keloid Scarring:
- Individuals with a history of keloid scarring (excessive scarring) may be at higher risk of developing keloids after microneedling, as the treatment stimulates healing, which could trigger excessive scar tissue formation.
10. Poor General Health or Immune System:
- Individuals with compromised immune systems or those who are not in good general health might have a slower healing response, making PRP microneedling less effective or more prone to complications.
A consultation will be performed prior to any procedures ensuring all treatments are carried out safely.
