How does it work?
When Profhilo is injected, our skin is rehydrated from the inside and post-procedure, the cells producing collagen and elastin are stimulated.
Profhilo is an ‘injectable skin booster treatment’ containing hyaluronic acid that floods the second layer with ‘a watery gel’ to deeply hydrate and support the top layer of skin. It also helps to provide the correct environment to rebuild lost collagen and elastin in the second layer caused by the ageing process. It acts as a natural skin enhancer, to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines, plump and hydrate the skin, and create a naturally glowing youthful complexion.

FAQs
How does profhilo work?
- Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Technology:
- Profhilo is made of highly concentrated hyaluronic acid. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, which are used to add volume, Profhilo’s hyaluronic acid is designed to work by improving skin hydration and stimulating collagen and elastin production, which are responsible for the skin’s firmness and elasticity.
- Bio-stimulation:
- The hyaluronic acid in Profhilo works as a bio-stimulator, meaning it stimulates the body’s natural collagen and elastin production, helping the skin regenerate and improve overall texture.
- Hydration and Skin Rejuvenation:
- Profhilo’s HA attracts water, delivering deep hydration to the skin and improving its plumpness and elasticity.
- The injection helps restore the skin’s moisture balance, making it hydrated, radiant, and more youthful in appearance.
- Gradual Results:
- Profhilo works over time. You may start to notice improvements in skin texture and hydration within a few days to a week. Full results, like a more radiant, firm, and smooth appearance, are typically visible after 2 to 3 weeks and improve over several months.
Ideal candidate?
Individuals with Early to Moderate Signs of Aging: Those with fine lines, loss of skin elasticity, and mild sagging who want to rejuvenate and tighten the skin without invasive surgery.
People with Dull, Dehydrated Skin: Ideal for individuals with dry, dehydrated, or lackluster skin who need deep hydration and a radiant glow.
Those Looking for Non-Surgical Treatment: Perfect for individuals seeking non-invasive treatments for skin tightening and lifting without the need for fillers or surgery.
Individuals Concerned with Skin Laxity: Those experiencing skin sagging or loose skin, especially around areas like the face, neck, or jawline.
People in Their 30s to 60s: While Profhilo can be effective for a wide age range, it is particularly beneficial for people in their 30s to 60s, when natural collagen and elastin production begins to slow down, leading to a loss of skin firmness and elasticity.
Those Looking to Improve Overall Skin Quality: Suitable for people who want to improve overall skin texture, tone, and elasticity, especially in areas prone to aging signs.
How is the treatment performed?
Preparation:
- Topical Numbing Cream: While Profhilo is relatively comfortable, a topical numbing cream may be applied to the treatment area about 15-20 minutes before the injections to minimize any discomfort.
- Cleaning the Skin: The treatment area is thoroughly cleaned to ensure there is no makeup, dirt, or oils on the skin.
Injection:
- Injection Points: Profhilo is injected into the dermis layer of the skin using a fine needle. The typical technique involves making 5 injection points on each side of the face (or other areas, such as the neck or hands), which are strategically placed in areas where skin laxity or dehydration is most noticeable.
- Profhilo is injected as a smooth, evenly distributed gel that spreads easily under the skin. It doesn’t require deep tissue injections like dermal fillers, but rather a superficial injection to hydrate and stimulate collagen and elastin production.
When will I see results?
- Immediate to 2 weeks: Hydration and a subtle glow are noticeable.
- You can expect to start seeing results 2 weeks after your second session. Your skin will have improved laxity, texture and have an overall better quality due to the hyaluronic acid drawing water and hydration to the area we have treated.
- 2 to 3 weeks: Improvements in skin texture, smoothness, and elasticity become more visible.
- 2 to 3 months: Full results, including tightening and lifting, are typically seen as collagen and elastin production peaks.
Profhilo has minimal downtime, which might include slight redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites that usually go away after a few hours or days.
How many treatments will I need?
Typically, two sessions of Profhilo are recommended, spaced about 4 weeks apart for optimal results.
After the initial two sessions (usually spaced 4 weeks apart), maintenance treatments every 4 to 6 months are recommended to keep the skin looking youthful and hydrated.

Longevity?
- Initial Results:
- Immediate hydration and a subtle glow are visible within a few days to a week after the treatment.
- Full Results:
- Collagen and elastin production increases over 2 to 3 months, leading to more firmness and improved skin texture.
- Longevity:
- 6 to 12 months after treatment, you will typically see the hydrating and skin-firming effects, though the exact duration depends on the individual.
Factors Affecting Longevity:
- Skin Type & Age: Younger individuals or those with naturally firmer skin may experience longer-lasting results, while older individuals may require more frequent treatments.
- Lifestyle: Healthy habits such as proper skincare, sun protection, hydration, and avoiding smoking can help maintain the results.
- Treatment Area: Areas of the skin that are more prone to movement (e.g., around the mouth or eyes) may require more frequent treatments.
Combination treatments.
Profhilo + AWI: Profhilo can be combined with antiwrinkle injections to allow us target both upper and lower face/neck.
Profhilo + Polynucleotides: Profhilo and polynucleotides work well together to target layer 2. Profhilo helps boost our sponge layer and provide intense rehydration, while polynucleotides act by energising our collagen and elastin producing cells and creating structural support in that sponge.
At Kins we love combining treatments as it means you can achieve more impactful results. This is also of benefit when life is busy as less appointments are needed and there is only one period of downtime.
Contraindications
Contraindications for Profhilo can include but are not limited to:
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Profhilo should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding due to a lack of sufficient safety data on its effects during these periods.
Active Skin Infections or Inflammation: If you have active skin infections, rashes, or inflammatory skin conditions (such as eczema, rosacea, or psoriasis) in the area to be treated, Profhilo should be avoided until the condition has cleared.
Allergy to Hyaluronic Acid or Components: If you have a known allergy or hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid or any other ingredients in the product, you should not receive Profhilo.
Autoimmune Diseases: Individuals with autoimmune diseases or those taking immunosuppressive medications may need to avoid Profhilo or consult their healthcare provider to ensure it is safe for their condition.
Blood Disorders: If you have bleeding disorders or are on blood-thinning medications (like aspirin, anticoagulants), you may be at higher risk for bruising or bleeding, so Profhilo treatment should be avoided or discussed with your healthcare provider.
Uncontrolled Chronic Diseases: Individuals with uncontrolled chronic diseases (e.g., diabetes or hypertension) should consult with a doctor before undergoing treatment, as these conditions may affect healing or response to treatment.
Under 18 Years Old: Profhilo is not recommended for minors under 18 years old as their skin may not need the same treatment as adults and there is a lack of data regarding its safety in younger individuals.
Recent Surgery or Trauma in the Area: Avoid Profhilo treatment in areas where there has been recent surgery, wounds, or trauma until the area has fully healed.
A consultation will be performed prior to any procedures ensuring all treatments are carried out safely.
If you have any concerns regarding your eligibility for a treatment, you can get in touch or come in for a consultation and we can go through the best treatment options for you.
