Anti-Wrinkle Injections
As we age , the constant movement of our skin surface creates lines and wrinkles that become etched into the skin. Anti wrinkle injections are injected into the muscles in the face that cause facial expression.

How does it work?
This injectable works on the muscles beneath the skin’s surface to essentially paralyse them.
It is the movement of these muscles that causes the overlying skin to wrinkle. These wrinkles become more pronounced on ageing skin as the skin quality decreases.
The most common areas treated for ageing are the frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal forehead lines and the lines around the eyes commonly known as ‘crow’s feet’. The procedure uses a tiny needle to administer the toxin so it is virtually pain-free. You may have a small raised bump where the needle was inserted but this will disappear within 10-20 mins.

FAQs
How do anti-wrinkle injections work?
Anti-wrinkle injections work by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles.
Targeted muscle relaxation: The injection blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles, preventing them from contracting.
Prevents wrinkle formation: By stopping certain facial muscles from moving, it reduces the appearance of dynamic wrinkles (like crow’s feet or frown lines).
Temporary effect: The results last for about 3 to 4 months, after which the treatment needs to be repeated to maintain the effect.
Safe and non-invasive: It’s a quick, non-surgical procedure with minimal downtime.
It essentially softens the wrinkles by reducing the muscle activity that causes them, giving the skin a smoother and more youthful appearance.
Am I an ideal candidate?
The ideal candidates for anti-wrinkle injections are individuals with fine lines or expression lines, particularly those between 30 to 60 years old. It is also effective for those seeking preventative treatments to delay the signs of ageing.
Anti wrinkle injections are individual and person dependent. By reducing the movement of certain muscles in the upper face, we can help prevent and manage lines and wrinkles in the area treated. A consultation will be performed prior to any procedure. Sometimes anti-wrinkle injections don’t suit certain face shapes and the best treatment options will be discussed with you in clinic.
Is there any downtime?
The downtime after anti-wrinkle injections is typically minimal. Most people can return to their normal activities right after the procedure. You might experience:
- Mild redness or swelling: Small bumps or redness at the injection sites may occur, but these usually fade within a few hours.
- Bruising: Some people may experience mild bruising, which can last a few days.
Avoid touching or massaging the treated areas: For at least 4 hours to prevent the product from spreading to unintended muscles.
Avoid strenuous exercise: For 24 hours after the procedure.
Overall, the downtime is minimal, and most people can continue their daily routines right away!
When should I expect to see results?
The results can be seen from day 3 but peak at day 14 and last 3 – 4 months. If you would like to maintain the results, we would recommend getting another procedure every 3-4 months.
How many treatments will be required?
Anti-wrinkle injections last 12-16 weeks. We will review patients 2 weeks post initial treatment if a top up dose is required.
Combination treatments.
Profhilo + AWI: Profhilo can be combined with antiwrinkle injections to allow us target both upper and lower face/neck.
Polynucleotides + AWI: Polynucleotides can be combined with antiwrinkle injections to allow us target both upper and lower face/neck.
At Kins we love combining treatments as it means you can achieve more impactful results. This is also of benefit when life is busy as less appointments are needed and there is only one period of downtime.
